Gentle guitar and a clear, unforced voice set the tone when Lexi Windsor plays. Her own songs lean folk-pop, in the vein of Laura Marling and Lizzy McAlpine, with lyrics that are open and easy to relate to. Cover sets pull from Adele, Joni Mitchell, The Waifs, Noah Kahan, Fleetwood Mac, Missy Higgins, ABBA and Amy Winehouse, so a mixed crowd will hear plenty they know. She started out accompanying herself on piano, and the songwriting took off once she picked up guitar. Down south she plays Caves House and The Deck, and in Perth you'll find her at small markets. Mandurah's first Summer Rush festival had her in an opening slot, and she also had a solo slot in a WAM week showcase. It's music for a winery afternoon, a cafe or restaurant, a pub session or a relaxed corporate event.
