Laurel and the Painkillers (LPK) is a cover band based in Melbourne, VIC.
Laurel and the Painkillers (LPK) play blues with rock and groove pushing it along, mixing covers with their own songs. The set is built for a room that likes its guitar up front: Hendrix's Fire and Voodoo Child, ZZ Top's La Grange and Tush, Led Zeppelin's Rock and Roll and Whole Lotta Love, plus Crossroads, Pride and Joy, Black Night, Radar Love, Prince's Kiss and I Put a Spell on You. One original, Bad Luck Comes in Three, reached the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition in 2022. In 2022 the MBAS VIC Blues Music Awards also named them an Emerging Act finalist. They play the Blues Train regularly, have released two CDs, and come as a duo, trio or four-piece with vocals and guitar, bass, keys and drums. Your venue's PA works, or they can bring one. Melbourne-based, they travel up to 100 km.
