Lapis Sky

Funk, soul and rock all feed into Lapis Sky, a four-piece from Sydney with two lead singers. Claude Fonseca plays bass and sings, and he's a big personality out front. Charles Mouyat shares the vocals and plays lead guitar, heavy on the riffs and just as sharp on the solos. Dan Parise adds keys and more vocals, and Seed Stowe drums. With a bass player leading the band, the groove sits right at the centre of the sound, and that's what gets a room moving. Expect showmanship as much as musicianship. A work party or a big birthday, where you want people off their chairs and dancing to something with real bottom end, is where they'll make the most noise.
