About
La Moda is a musical duo based in Melbourne, VIC.
Church masses, garden ceremonies and destination weddings are La Moda's speciality. At the centre is soprano Mary-Louise Santa, who trained at Opera Australia and the VCA, backed by harp, organ, guitar, accordion, piano or keyboard, or by a string trio or quartet. The repertoire is classical music and romantic ballads, sung in English, Italian, French or German, with pieces like Panis Angelicus, Pie Jesu, Ave Maria, Morning Has Broken and Amazing Grace. Choosing music for a service can be daunting, so they guide you through the song choices and keep it simple. The Melbourne group plays acoustically or with a PA depending on the space, books as a solo, duo, trio or quartet, can supply an MC, and travels nationwide. They also sing at funerals.
