About
Kokomo is a musical duo based in Perth, WA.
Sixties pop and Motown sit at the heart of a Kokomo set. Leanne Harvey sings Sandie Shaw's Puppet on a String and (There's) Always Something There to Remind Me, Motown songs such as My Guy, Baby Love and You Keep Me Hangin' On, and Carpenters favourites like Superstar and We've Only Just Begun. Aaron Woolley brings the Beatles, the Kinks, the Searchers, Buddy Holly, Elvis and surf instrumentals from the Shadows and the Ventures. The Perth duo plays with light sequenced backings or fully unplugged, and for a dinner party or corporate evening they switch to jazz and mellow songs. Kokomo goes back to the late 80s, when it was a six-piece that played the America's Cup defence and spent six months as resident band at the newly opened Burswood Casino. Leanne holds a music degree and has played first trumpet with WASO.
