Katharine

Long vinyl sets are where Katharine does her best work. She has played five-hour all-vinyl nights at lounge bars such as Black Cat and Fiftyfive, and a three-hour set on the Breakfast Club rooftop. Her sound is minimal at heart: sideways house mixed with lush techno, breaks and West Coast house, plus a Romanian-influenced microhouse streak that gives the groove its pull. She has played the Australian east coast since 2000 and now plays in Melbourne. For more than a decade she's run the Motion:Theory:Music party series and label at Killing Time with Ben Abrahams, and she's a resident for Timeless at KT. She has recently opened for Crihan, Monika Ross, Herck and Silat Beksi, and she and Rupert Wall co-host a mix series called Selekt Sessions.
