Folk music from the 1970s shapes almost everything Karlo Arcinue writes and sings. It's warm, gentle music, better suited to an afternoon crowd with a drink in hand than a late-night dance floor. The Melbourne singer-songwriter began his solo project during the lockdowns, and it has since found listeners around the world. These days he plays regularly across Victoria at pubs, markets and festivals, so he's used to rooms where people are eating, browsing and chatting as well as listening. For a long lunch, a garden party or a relaxed festival stage, he's an easy fit.
