Kari & Gar

A fiddle joins the guitars in most Kari & Gar songs, and the guitars themselves shift between tunings. The duo's own material comes first, but at a restaurant they'll mix those originals with Irish ballads and old traditional tunes, and they'll cover songs by Jim Croce, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cat Stevens, Steve Earle, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Steppenwolf and the Grateful Dead. That kind of night usually runs to three 45-minute sets. At festivals they can play twice a day and like taking support slots, with an original set of around 45 minutes. Sound needs are small: one mic and one DI, plus a second of either for the fiddle, and a monitor mix like the front of house. For local and restaurant gigs they can bring their own PA. Glenwood in Queensland is home, they hold their own liability insurance, and a 500 km trip is fine.
