Kane James is a musical soloist based in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Looped dub reggae grooves are the starting point for Kane James, with saxophone melodies laid over the top, all built live. Kane also sings and plays guitar, and the sets drift through indie, funk and blues, mixing original songs with covers old and new. So you might hear Ain't No Sunshine, then Sublime's What I Got, Rum Rage by Sticky Fingers, Max Romeo's Chase the Devil, Get Up Stand Up or Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz. The mood runs from mellow and easy to upbeat and swinging, which sits well at a laid-back afternoon gathering or in a bar where people want some groove. Kane brings a PA and just needs power. Based on the Sunshine Coast, Kane travels up to 100 km.
