Justin Banks

Justin Banks takes heavy rock songs from the 80s and 90s and slows them into melodic power ballads. He does the same with plenty of well-loved favourites, reshaping them using a big vocal range and his own style. On some songs he slaps a beat out on his guitar and loops a drum track underneath, then sings over it, so one performer builds a full-sounding arrangement live in front of you. It's a singer-and-guitar act suited to bars, parties and easygoing functions where people will notice when a familiar rock song comes back as a ballad. He's based in Brisbane.
