Joy Music is a cover band based in Newcastle, NSW.
Most Joy Music bookings are the full party band, four or five players with brass available to add, though they can go all the way down to a solo artist. For weddings there's a neat option: book the band for the reception, and a duo or trio from the same crew can cover the ceremony and canapés. Sets run 40 to 60 minutes, with music between sets, and they'll take special requests and help with your run sheet. The dance list leans on funk and pop, with Canned Heat, Juice, I Wish, Levitating, Uptown Funk, Valerie, Blame It on the Boogie and (I've Had) The Time of My Life. They bring the PA, instruments and mics. You supply power, roughly 2 metres by 3 of floor, cover if the weather could turn, and meals for the band, plus accommodation on trips longer than two hours. The Newcastle band travels up to 300 km.
