John is a musical soloist based in Sydney, NSW.
Picture BB King crossed with Joe Cocker and you're close to John's voice: gritty, soulful and old-school. He sings blues with a jazz singer's looseness, bringing British and Aussie blues and roots rock into the mix. His history goes back to the early sixties British Invasion, playing the Cavern Club in Liverpool with his bands The Sect and The Feelgoods. In the seventies he worked with Jim Keays on the albums The Boy from the Stars, Fox and Star Spangled Banger. Based in Sydney, he works solo, which makes him a good pick for a bar, a lounge or a smaller party where people want a real blues voice.
