Jo Abbott

Waltzes, tangos, gypsy swing and French chanson: Jo Abbott plays piano accordion music that makes people want to dance or remember. She's drawn most to French bal musette from the 30s and 40s, the world of Django Reinhardt, Gus Viseur, Édith Piaf, Juliette Gréco and Charles Trenet. She also plays instrumental pieces from Argentina, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Germany, Ireland and Spain. It's a lovely choice for a French-themed dinner, a Bastille Day party or a relaxed afternoon event. Jo has played the Melbourne Recital Centre, Wangaratta, Stonnington and Melbourne jazz festivals, Brisbane's OzManouche Festival and the Melbourne Bastille Day French Festival, plus gigs in Europe. Based in Boronia, she travels Australia-wide as a solo act.
