Jesse Deane-Freeman

There are three ways to book Jesse Deane-Freeman, and each is a different night. Solo, he plays blues from the 1920s to the 1950s on brass resonator guitars, working through the early styles. With The Rhythm Aces it's 50s Chicago blues, early rock 'n' roll and swamp blues, with Mario Marino drumming, Jason Mannix playing bass and Jesse moving between piano and guitar. The JDF Trio puts him on Hammond organ with guitar and drums for improvised blues, jazz, lounge, Latin and funk instrumentals. He's been gigging since 1992 and has released seven albums since 1996. Festival stages include Byron Bay Bluesfest, the Mornington Peninsula Blues Festival and the Lithgow and Cairns blues festivals, and he has supported Magic Slim and the Teardrops, Johnnie Johnson, Kirk Fletcher, the Flying Burrito Brothers and Russell Morris. Adelaide is where he plays most.
