Jem Sparkles

Indie folk with a gypsy, vintage colour to it is what Jem Sparkles plays, and the live show has a dreamy, ethereal quality that tends to hush a room. The melodies do the work. It's one voice and a guitar, so it sits comfortably in a pub, a small bar or a laid-back afternoon where people have come to listen. There's no fixed set list either, and the songs shift from one gig to the next. Jem has been performing for years and has recently finished recording a new EP, Beautiful Life. On the night Jem needs a PA, a microphone and a monitor, plus room to set up the guitar. Brisbane is home, and Jem travels nationwide.
