JC and the Tree

Violin, guitar and two voices in close harmony make up JC and the Tree, a Sunshine Coast pair who play indie folk-rock. Their melodies are detailed but easy to follow, and the songs keep coming back to the natural world. Their sets stretch to three hours and are nearly all their own songs, with the odd cover, which suits a festival stage or a relaxed outdoor event where people want something other than the usual hits. They've played Caloundra Music Festival, Woodford, Yackandandah Folk Festival and Airlie Beach. Sustainability matters to them, down to native seeds packed with their albums. They can bring a PA and basic lights, needing 5 by 3 metres, or 3 by 2.5 if the PA is supplied, plus power, full shade and rain cover. Public liability insurance is their own, and they'll go anywhere in the country.
