Jason van Miert has spent more than 16 years reading crowds, from rooftop bars to festival stages. His credits include Splendour In The Grass, and he has played warm-up sets for Flume and Diplo. A warm-up DJ learns to build a room slowly, and it pays off at a birthday or company party, where the energy should climb through the evening rather than peak in the first hour.
