Jason Coghill is a singer based in East Geelong, VIC.
Just a guitar, a stomp box and a tambourine is all Jason Coghill needs to fill a room, solo or as a duo, with professional backing tracks on hand once the dancing starts. The songs are mostly 60s to 90s covers, played as close to the records as possible: Eagle Rock, Solsbury Hill, April Sun in Cuba, Down Under and Brown Eyed Girl among them. A quiet James Taylor ballad can sit right next to a Springsteen song sung at full voice. Jason also fronts The J Band, a covers trio that has worked Geelong, the Surf Coast and Melbourne for 20 years, and has supported Brian Cadd, Renée Geyer, Joe Camilleri and Russell Morris. Weddings and corporate functions are home turf, with regular pub and bar gigs between them. Set-up takes an hour and needs one power point. Jason is based in East Geelong and travels nationwide.
