Jared Underwood

BATTERIE is Jared Underwood's solo project, and it sounds far bigger than one performer. Live drums are improvised on the spot, then layered with synthesisers, samples, loops and electronics, all built in real time. Instrumental and electronic, the music pulls from IDM, chiptune, electro and breakbeat, with experimental rock and post-rave in there too. Jared is a graduate of AFTRS and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, works as a composer and percussionist, and has won awards. One highlight was a support slot for Gang Gang Dance, the New York art rock band. It's a show for an arts event, a launch or a late crowd that wants something adventurous, and it's based in Sydney.
