Jane Germain is a singer-songwriter based in Perth, WA.
Jane Germain swaps between guitar and clawhammer banjo through a set, and the music moves just as freely, through blues, bluegrass, country blues and rock. Her covers draw on Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Paul Simon, JJ Cale, Chris Isaak and The Band, so you might hear Big Yellow Taxi, The Weight, Ode to Billie Joe, Sugar Man or Under the Milky Way. She plays solo or as a duo. Her own career carries real weight: five WA Country Music Awards, six albums, headline tours of regional WA funded by Country Arts, a residency in Beijing from the Australia-China Council, and an invitation to China's 2010 World Expo as one of Australia's representatives. She's also in demand as a session player. Allow 45 minutes to set up. Based in Perth, she travels up to 100 km.
