James Morrison

A jazz trumpeter first, James Morrison also plays trombone, saxophone and piano. His stage partners have included B.B. King, Wynton Marsalis and Dizzy Gillespie, and he records and composes as well as playing live. The fanfare that opened the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games was his, written and performed by him. There are film scores and Royal Command performances on the list too, and a book of stories from his musical life, Blowing My Own Trumpet. It's a strong booking for a gala or formal dinner built around a featured performance. New South Wales is where he's based.
