High Tide

High Tide take songs you know and strip them back to acoustic, with rock 'n' roll roots and a lean toward funk, indie, blues, roots and grunge. Vocals and guitar are Rab Wylie's job, Andy Wylie is on bass, and Lock-T drums and adds backing vocals, each with more than 20 years of regular gigs. The set runs from the 80s to recent Triple J Hottest 100 songs: Powderfinger, Oasis, Gotye, Otis Redding, Hunters & Collectors, Amy Winehouse, Pearl Jam and Matt Corby all turn up. Book the trio, a duo, or Rab solo for a smaller room. They usually play three 45-minute sets and need an undercover powered spot. It's pub-band energy, which works at a backyard birthday as well as a bar.
