High Hat

Disco and downtempo are where High Hat lives. The Sydney DJ builds sets from melodic vocals and keys, 70s and 80s grooves, acid house, soulful house, afro boogie and plenty of funky basslines, and she keeps a playful streak running through the lot. She's also a classically trained pianist, and she pays close attention to the energy in a room, picking music that fits the hour and the space rather than going full volume from the first track. Expect a theatrical presence behind the decks with a strong synth-pop look. She'd suit a cocktail party that slowly turns into a dance, or a launch where the music should feel a bit left of centre.
