Hardland

Hardland is a blues folk trio with a gritty streak. Michele Callan has the big voice out front, Ashley Thompson adds harmonica and harmonies, and Bruce McKail plays blues-rooted guitar. The songs are the band's own favourites, mostly rough-edged numbers from the 60s to the 80s, by Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, the Rolling Stones and Big Bill Broonzy among others. It's a warm, foot-tapping show from experienced players who enjoy themselves on stage, and it sits well in a bar, a folk club or a relaxed afternoon where people want to join in on the choruses.
