Gus Abiz

Gus Abiz watches the room and plays to it. Some nights that means a warm, low-key background while people talk, and some nights it means getting them up. He sings with guitar and uses looping, the set blends familiar covers with originals, and his Brazilian roots come through in the music. After more than 14 years of gigging around Sydney, he can tailor a set to an era, a theme or just a mood. Bookings run for one, two or three hours. He needs about 2 by 2 metres and 30 to 45 minutes to set up, brings his own PA for smaller events, and a venue system helps in bigger rooms. He's also a funeral singer. He lives in Manly Vale and will travel nationwide. His Working With Children Check is a New South Wales one, and he carries public liability insurance.
