Groovology

Mia's voice leads Groovology, and the song list shows it: Pat Benatar, Roxette, Janis Joplin, the Divinyls, Aretha Franklin, Sheryl Crow and Tina Turner, plus CCR, Michael Jackson, Wilson Pickett and Gloria Gaynor. The Sunshine Coast band plays favourites from the 70s through to the 2000s. They can keep it to easy listening early in the night, then switch to party songs for dancing. Behind her in the standard four-piece, Darren drums, Dewa plays bass and Harry handles guitar. A five-piece version adds a male singer on rhythm guitar. The band began in Sydney, and some members moved north in 2017. Setting up takes them roughly 90 minutes, and the space they need is about 3 by 4 metres. Every member is insured, and they travel nationwide.
