Geoff Achison is a guitarist based in Melbourne, VIC.
Geoff Achison turns up with his favourite old acoustic guitar and plays blues, ballads and rockers, with stories from a life on the road dropped in between songs. Pick the format: a two-hour concert with encores, a single hour-long set or two of them, or three sets of 45 minutes. His own songs sit beside reworked classics like Classical Gas, Whipping Post, Superstition, Polk Salad Annie, Blackbird, Come Together and In the Midnight Hour. He's played juke joints in the American south and centuries-old English ale houses, and festivals from Byron Bay to Edinburgh. In 2020 he was inducted into the Blues Music Victoria Hall of Fame. His set-up is just a guitar input and a vocal mic, and he can bring a vocal PA and lights good for audiences up to about 200. He carries public liability insurance and will travel anywhere in Australia from his Melbourne base.
