Foxlane is a string ensemble based in Brisbane, QLD.
Foxlane bring a little of old Paris to Brisbane. Songs are sung in French over gypsy jazz guitar, violin and accordion, and the sound pulls in Manouche swing, bal-musette, chanson and a touch of New Orleans. It swings, but it carries a nostalgic, vintage feel. The group is billed as a quartet, but it can shrink to two players or grow to five. A cocktail party is the obvious home for this music, above all one with a French theme, and wedding receptions, company functions and private parties are on their books too.
