First Summer

Every song First Summer plays is live; nothing is mimed and no backing tracks sit under the vocals. That's a deliberate choice, and it's built the band a reputation for hard-working, note-perfect sets across more than 100 classic and party songs. They'll shape the night around the occasion, moving between an acoustic jazz duo during dinner and a full five-piece party band once the tables clear, and they can run up to six sets across an evening. Their Bose sound system and lighting cover crowds up to 400, and they'll learn a couple's first dance song given enough notice. A stage of 5 by 4 metres is the minimum they ask for. They're Brisbane-based, take bookings anywhere in the country, and hold public liability cover.
