Favela

Favela are a Perth duo for the parts of an evening when the music should be lovely and still leave room to talk. One plays acoustic guitar, the other switches between flute and soprano sax, and together they cover a wide spread of styles with a Latin lean. Bossa nova sits beside flamenco, Bach turns up now and then, and a few contemporary popular songs get the same treatment. It's polished without being dull, and it sits nicely under the chat at a ceremony, over pre-dinner drinks or at a company function where guests are dressed up. Both players have toured and played with plenty of experienced WA musicians.
