Exeter Blues

Story songs from a life spent on the road are what Exeter Blues deal in. Dave O'Leary sings them straight, with a laconic, honest delivery, while Beej Barker lays down the driving rhythms and grooves underneath. The sound is raw and raucous, mixing early Mississippi Delta slide guitar with modern punk funk and Cajun country. Most of the set comes from their six albums of originals, with a few covers from Tom Waits, Little Walter, The Cruel Sea, Beck and Bob Dylan worked in. It's a duo for a room that came to listen properly, like a blues bar or a pub gig with a proper music crowd.
