Ereignis

Ereignis is one guitarist building slow, layered music in real time. Acoustic guitar goes through a looping station, with ambient textures stacked underneath, so the sound fills out well beyond a single instrument. Some pieces are bright and lifting, others meditative and a little melancholy. It's all instrumental, and it's music for drifting into rather than dancing to, which makes it right for a wedding ceremony, a garden reception or a corporate gathering where people need room to breathe. The set mixes originals with covers rearranged in the same calm, ambient way, drawing on The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell and Simon and Garfunkel. All the gear comes along, including a PA if needed, and there's a portable setup for outdoor spots. From a Melbourne base, Ereignis will go as far as 500 km, with public liability cover in place.
