Elly Hoyt

Elly Hoyt is a jazz singer and composer from Tasmania with a big, soulful voice that fills a room without any help. Her studies took her to Boston's New England Conservatory, and she won a Bell Award and was awarded a Generations in Jazz vocal scholarship. She has made three albums. One, The Composer's Voice, celebrates Australian women composers, and the other two are Oranges and Sunshine and a self-titled record. Her career has taken her to festivals and venues overseas, a support slot for Kenny Barron and a performance for King Charles and Camilla. So she's a serious booking for a gala, a concert series or a formal dinner where the music is part of the program, and she works out of Hobart.
