Dyan Tai

Mirror-coated keytar in hand, Dyan Tai brings a cabaret past into electronic music. Dyan started out on Sydney's cabaret stages, and the live shows now mix Asiatic drag and performance art with heavy synths. Behind the decks the choices get even more fun. There's 2000s dance-pop, R&B and hip hop, disco from the old school, and the camp anthems everyone shouts along to, and then a power ballad arrives out of nowhere. It's a big personality to put in charge of the music, right for a party or a launch that wants some theatre and guests happy to belt out a chorus. Dyan is based in Newtown.
