Samba and the rhythms of Brazil's north-east sit next to Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley and Sting in a Duo São Paulo set. It's two players making a big sound. Marcio Mendes sings and plays several instruments, Ben Vanderwal is on drums and percussion, and they mix electronic sounds in with the acoustic ones. Marcio comes from São Paulo and has performed with Djavan and with samba and pagode bands including Negritude Junior, Mundo do Samba and Arte Popular. Ben is a jazz drummer who has toured through Asia, Europe and the US, playing with James Morrison, John Scofield and Kate Ceberano among many others. The Perth duo suits a themed night or a festival as well as a wedding or company function, anywhere you want guests moving to something a bit different.
