Son of a Preacher Man and I Only Want to Be with You share the bill with Que Sera, Sera and Sentimental Journey in this Perth tribute to Dusty Springfield and Doris Day. The show follows both singers' lives through the songs that mattered to each of them. A vocalist with a warm, personal manner leads it and puts the room at ease, backed by well-known Perth players. They're jazz musicians at heart, so the music can go from quiet ambience to dancing to showtime. Little Creatures in Fremantle and Luciolis in Claremont have both had them as regulars, and they've also played on board the Decoy paddle steamer and at Vic Park's Opal Bar. On the jazz circuit there's Jazz Fremantle, the Jazz Club of WA, the Laneway Lounge and the Ellington Jazz Club. Line-ups run from four to six players, and dancers can join the show. Weddings and cocktail parties suit it, and so do corporate functions.
