DJChan plays weddings, parties and karaoke nights around Perth, with music in English, Sri Lankan, Hindi, Tamil and African styles. Requests are easy. The controller streams from TIDAL, so a song he hasn't already got can play on the spot, and most tracks are lossless files. For sound there's a pair of JBL column speakers with built-in subwoofers, and larger 15-inch JBLs join in for a bigger crowd. Three wireless and two wired microphones cover sing-alongs, and a six-channel mixer means live instruments can plug in. Lighting includes a light bar, two moving heads and a laser, plus a smoke machine chosen so it doesn't trip the smoke detectors. He brings everything, table included, and needs an hour to set up. Travels up to 300 km.
