Funk, soul, jazz and hip hop, with plenty of warmth: that's the sound DJ Smooth Nicholas goes after. It's the side project and alter ego of Nick Solo, who fronts the hip hop group Horrorshow. Nick's digging started with tracking down the samples behind classic rap beats, and across a two-decade career it grew into a fascination with every genre, especially the warmth of funk, soul and jazz. Expect a set that follows those threads, suited to a bar, a party or a relaxed venue night where people like hearing where a beat came from. He's based in Sydney.
