Nu-disco, funk, hip hop, soul, R&B, house and pop all find their way into a DJ Jay D set. It's open format DJing out of Perth, moving between styles rather than sticking to one, with a big stash of remixes and mashups to pull from. Club nights were the early grounding, and these days the bookings are bars and private events. Most sets run digitally on Serato, though Jay D can still play straight vinyl. That club background counts at a birthday or engagement party, where someone needs to read the floor and change direction fast.
