Thirty years behind the decks, most of them in Sydney and eight of them back in New Zealand during the 2000s, give DJ Coolhandluke a very deep record collection to draw on. The list of artists supported leans heavily towards hip hop, with soul, funk and dance names mixed in. De La Soul, Jurassic 5, Public Enemy, Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony are all on it, next to Roy Ayers, Kool & the Gang, Mayer Hawthorne, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson, plus Fatboy Slim and the Black Eyed Peas. For a party where the floor wants hip hop classics and old soul, that history counts for a lot.
