Disco Disciples is a disco band based in Coolangatta, QLD.
Flares, sequins and a drum kit that lights up in time with the beat. Disco Disciples play the 1970s dance hits in full costume, and they change outfits during the breaks, so the second set looks different from the first. The songs are the ones that made the era: Le Freak, Car Wash, Hot Stuff, I Will Survive, Funkytown, Dancing Queen and Blame It on the Boogie. There's one job on the night, which is filling the dance floor and keeping it full. Their own PA handles a room of up to about 500 people, with a modest lighting rig. Anything bigger needs a hired PA and lighting with operators, which is worth sorting early. The band comes from Coolangatta, travels nationwide and holds public liability insurance.
