Detour is a cover band based in Perth, WA.
Slow jams early, gritty funk later. Detour are a Perth five-piece who have been playing soul, funk and hip hop since 2004, and they leave space for improvising, so the set rarely plays out the same way twice. Their roots go back to Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, James Brown and Stevie Wonder, with newer influences like D'Angelo, The Roots, Soulive and A Tribe Called Quest. Danny Martin sings, Troy Roberts is on sax, Konrad Paszkudzki plays keys, Roy Martinez plays bass and Andy Fisenden drums. They've played the Quarry Amphitheatre, Metro City, Universal Bar, Llama Bar and The Deen. Weddings, festivals, concerts, company events and private functions are all on the table.
