DeSilva treats the DJ booth as a place to experiment. He's a multi-instrumentalist who mixes DJing with live analogue gear, improvising in real time with his hands on the controls, somewhere between a planned set and pure spontaneity. The sound moves through tech, minimal and house, hypnotic and patient, the kind of groove that builds slowly. That suits a late club night where the floor has hours to settle in. He belongs to Kerfew, a collective of South Asian artists built around representation, community and deeper club culture, and fond of long sessions on the floor. DeSilva is based in Melbourne.
