DeepBlue is a string orchestra based in Brisbane, QLD.
DeepBlue's string players move, rove and perform choreography, and a bigger show can add a stilt-walking cellist, a hula-hooping violinist and projected visuals. The Brisbane ensemble books in three shapes. Compact is a roving trio or a quartet that starts classical and then breaks into rock. Impact is a feature act with choreography, circus stunts and visuals, made for an awards night or a big reveal. Spectacular covers a whole evening, from a pre-show trio or quartet to the feature act and a DJ afterwards. Songs include Paint It Black, Miserlou and a Bowie medley. With v-drums and wireless in-ears, set-up is quick and the footprint small, though their sound engineer needs 30 to 60 minutes for soundcheck. Credits include World Expos in Shanghai and Osaka, a run to the Australia's Got Talent finals and the live Australian of the Year Awards broadcast. Insured, and they travel Australia-wide.
