David McCall is a tribute band based in Melbourne, VIC.
Two horns and a rhythm section was Van Morrison's own idea of the right band, and David McCall's VM Tribute Show Band takes it seriously with 12 musicians on stage. David fronts the show. He grew up in the same part of Belfast as Van, and he looks and sounds the part. In the 70s he worked in London as a roadie and backing singer, then put music aside for years after moving to Australia. It began in 2009 as a modest covers outfit and has been growing ever since. Expect the well-known hits, the ballads and the dance numbers, pitched at a Melbourne crowd that loves this catalogue and will happily lose itself in it.
