Cosmic Groove is a cover band based in Brisbane, QLD.
Cosmic Groove's most booked line-up is the five-piece, where the fifth player is your pick of a female lead singer, a saxophone or a trumpet. Pare it back to four and you have the band's core: drums, bass, guitar and keys, with the men out front on vocals. The trio drops the keys and still covers rock, funk, pop, jazz, soul and R&B. For a ceremony, a canapé set or a low-key event, the duo uses loop pedals and backing tracks to keep some lift in the sound. Across the night the Brisbane band can move between smooth background music, a dance floor of current hits and a singalong of Aussie rock classics, reading the crowd as they go. The players bring decades of experience from Australia and overseas, and weddings and corporate events are the core of their calendar.
