Cool Sounds Collective began when a few mates started hosting parties at Perth's Vinyl Cafe, playing nothing but records, and that record-bag spirit still shapes the sets. Expect feel-good music across a wide range, reggae at one end and drum and bass at the other, with plenty of funk in the middle. The roots go back to UK pirate radio and sound system culture, and the crew have spent more than 20 years digging for records around the world. So the selection leans towards tunes your guests won't have heard on every playlist. Book them for a relaxed gathering where guests ask what's playing, knowing they can still fill a dance floor.
