Comedy Of Art

Comedy Of Art is immersive theatre that pulls guests into play, often without them noticing. Behind it is a Brisbane collective of visual artists, musicians, designers, performers and comedians who mix dance, art, music and theatre. The idea is to send grown-ups back to their childhood, and the formats go well beyond a stage show: roving characters, clowning, puppets, spoken word, kids' disco parties and DJ sets. The group has received an Awesome Foundation grant, and events featuring their work have drawn more than 55,000 people. Give them a festival site or a family day and they'll turn it into a playground, and a wedding after something playful rather than polished works too. They travel up to 50 km.
