His rig is compact: acoustic guitar, vocals, live guitar loops and a stompbox under his foot, with funky rhythms and guitar solos on top. Blues comes from Lead Belly, JJ Cale, Canned Heat and Buddy Guy, country from Slim Dusty, John Prine and Colter Wall, and classics from Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel, The Cure and Pink Floyd, along with his own songs. More than 30 years of playing mean he adjusts fast to a venue's limits. He needs just 1.5 x 2.5 metres, and power is optional. He also plays as a duo with Veronica Jean. Based in the Tweed Shire, Dave is insured and travels up to 300 km.
