Cirque Tas / Circus Workshops & Performances

At a big festival, more than a hundred people at a time can be trying diabolo, spinning plates or wobbling on a unicycle. That's the large version of a Cirque Tas outreach workshop, with three trainers running it. One trainer handles roughly 35 to 40 participants at once, two handle 70 to 80. Workshops run for at least two hours and can go all day, anywhere in Tasmania, with juggling, hula hoop, devil sticks, poi, ribbons and stilts among the skills. The team brings everything it needs, though a workshop longer than four hours needs power for the battery amp. Performances are a separate booking, from fire and LED acts to clowning, mime and human statues, depending on which performer is free. The company is based in Hobart, and staff hold current WWVP cards and public liability cover.
